The Mississippi River is the lifeblood of the Twin Cities. Our portion of the river is the headwaters of one of the world’s great waterways, and yet most Twin Cities residents spend no time on the river itself, giving it little more than a passing glance as we cross over on bridges high above the water’s surface.
The Nicollet Island Inn wants to change that. We’ve partnered with the Minneapolis Water Taxi for an unforgettable evening cruise and dinner.
LOCATION
Your evening begins at BOOM ISLAND PARK where you and up to five friends will be greeted by the Nicollet Island Inn’s purser to deliver your picnic basket filled with hors d’oeuvres of your choosing and champagne or wine and assist with boarding your cruise.
Your group will board a Minneapolis Water Taxi solar-powered electric cruise boat and enjoy a peaceful hour-long tour of the upper Mississippi above St Anthony Falls, where you will enjoy the scenery and the serenity, along with your choice of wine or champagne and a variety of hors d’ovures.
After your cruise, you will head to the Nicollet Island Inn for an elegant dinner to round out the evening and recount your experiences with your shipmates.
In all, it is the perfect way to spend a Minnesota summer evening – wine and food, scenery and serenity, and good friends.
PRICING
Pricing for the evening varies depending on the number of guests in your group. There is a $125 base fee per group for the boat and purser service plus $95 per guest for the picnic basket ($20), wine or champagne ($25), and dinner ($50 voucher toward dinner at the Inn). Pricing breaks down like this:
